Sustainable Catering

Food that tastes great and is kind to the planet too!

At Red Pepper Catering, we believe you shouldn’t have to choose between great food and doing right by the planet. With a few smart choices, your next event can be as eco-friendly as it is delicious.

Here’s how you – and your caterer – can make that happen.

Why sustainable catering matters

Catering has a hidden cost. From piles of packaging to uneaten food and long delivery miles, the environmental impact can be big. But it doesn’t have to be.

By choosing a caterer that puts sustainability first, you’ll cut waste, lower emissions and send the right message to your guests.

What we’re doing at Red Pepper Catering

We’ve made sustainability part of how we work every day. Here’s how –

1. Greener packaging and serveware

We use bamboo platters, plates and tongs that are biodegradable, reusable and far better for the planet than plastic or polystyrene.

Our delivery boxes? Fully biodegradable too – no waste, no guilt.

2. No to single-use plastic

Plastic cutlery, cling film and straws have no place in our kitchen. We’ve swapped them for greener options that won’t end up polluting rivers or oceans.

3. Smarter waste management

Every bit of veg waste from our prep goes into compost – not the bin. That means less landfill and more nutrient-rich soil.

4. Recycling as standard

All glass and cardboard gets sorted and recycled. It’s simple – and it works.

Other ways to make your event greener

Want to go a step further? Here are a few more ways to cut your event’s carbon footprint:

Choose local and seasonal

Ask your caterer to use ingredients grown nearby and in season. You’ll get fresher food and cut down on transport miles.

Add more plant-based options

Even a few meat-free dishes make a difference. They’re better for the planet and offer something for everyone.

Order carefully

Over-ordering leads to waste. Work with your caterer to get the portions right for your guest list.

Ditch the paper

Swap printed menus and signs for digital options or reusable boards. Less paper, less printing, less waste.

Your part in the picture

Sustainable catering is a shared effort. Here’s how you can do your bit –

  • Ask your caterer about their green credentials
  • Choose venues with recycling and composting facilities
  • Offer water stations instead of bottled drinks
  • Provide proper cutlery or compostables – not plastic throwaways

A better event all round

Sustainability doesn’t mean cutting corners. It means thoughtful planning, better materials and food you can feel good about.
