Summer Weddings and a new Autumn menu

Changing Seasons at Red Pepper Catering


It feels like such a short time since I was planning for picnics and summer weddings, but autumn has arrived with us once again! It’s been a fantastic summer, in so many ways – as life gradually returned to normal, I was able to be there to help people enjoy those special occasions, from supplying the food at family picnics, to catering at three stunning weddings. And now, as the days grow shorter, I’m unveiling my new Autumn menu and a couple of little hints about what the Christmas season might hold…

But before we get to that, I’d love to share those three very special occasions with you, because the return of summer weddings has been so welcome for me this year. The relaxing of restrictions has given many couples the chance to have the wedding of their dreams, with all of the friends and family they wanted to include – and I’ve been so happy and honoured to provide the catering for their perfect days.

Wedding Bells

One of these fabulous weddings took place at the beautiful Tathall End Farm, near Hanslope, where the 115 guests enjoyed a three-course hot buffet meal. Another 100 guests assembled in a marquee in Lavendon, where the happy couple wanted to provide afternoon tea – which is a great option if your wedding timings mean your meal comes at mid-afternoon!

And for the third Red Pepper wedding this summer, I was delighted to return to Newton Park Farm for one of these weddings (which is where I held many summer barbecues this year too). This couple wanted to share one of their favourites with their guests – and it was lasagne all round for their 100 attendees!

Also this summer, my picnic boxes turned into a huge hit – I made up over 80 of them, for large events like the Opera Della Luna at Stowe in Buckingham, and lots of smaller family gatherings and outings. They were so popular that I’ve definitely got them on the list for next year.

New Season’s Menu

Looking ahead though, it’s time to think about leaving the outdoors and heading inside – so I’ve been putting together my Autumn menu for those special occasions:  

I can come and cook for you in your own kitchen, and serve it to you and your guests at your table – or I can prepare it all beforehand and deliver it to your door, with full instructions about what to do and when, and even some serving suggestions to add that extra touch. I’ll be serving up some of this menu for the attendees at the annual Padbury Hill Farm Shoots this Autumn!

Christmas is Coming…

Looking just a couple of months ahead, I’ll be getting ready for Christmas – and this year, the corporate Christmas do is making a come back, with a difference! Many workplaces are choosing to cater for their teams in the office, instead of organising a bash at a venue – so I’m putting together some special Christmas Party menus just for them. Watch this blog space for more details, along with the Christmas afternoon teas for delivery, and the Christmas Day cook-at-home lineup…
